Henkel Opens North American Battery Application Center to Drive EV Innovation

MADISON HEIGHTS, MI—Henkel has opened its new North America Battery Application Center in Madison Heights, Michigan, expanding its global footprint of battery engineering facilities and strengthening support for EV OEMs and battery manufacturers. The new center complements Henkel’s Battery Engineering Center in Düsseldorf, Germany, and includes both a Battery Application Center and Battery Test Center.
Equipped with industrial-scale robotics, the facility enables rapid collaboration, testing, and optimization of advanced materials such as thermal interface materials, sealants, structural adhesives, and debonding-on-demand solutions. By simulating real-world production, the center helps manufacturers reduce development time, prevent costly re-work, and accelerate the commercialization of high-performance, sustainable EV components.
“Henkel’s new center reinforces our commitment to enabling the future of e-mobility with integrated solutions that accelerate innovation and sustainability across the entire battery lifecycle,” said Pankaj Arora, Vice President, Electronics and E-Mobility, Henkel Adhesive Technologies, North America.
