EOS Expands Metal Additive Manufacturing Assembly in Texas

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas—EOS is expanding metal additive manufacturing assembly and logistics operations in Texas as part of a $3 million investment aimed at increasing U.S.-based production capacity and shortening delivery times for North American customers.
The project includes a reconfiguration of manufacturing space at the Pflugerville campus and the opening of a new warehouse in Belton, Texas. The changes will support expanded assembly of the EOS M 290-1, EOS M 290-2 and EOS M 400-4 metal additive manufacturing systems, along with the addition of a dedicated powder-handling area and an in-house machine shop.
“Our Texas expansion enables us to scale North American metal additive manufacturing assembly with both precision and consistency,” said Kent Firestone, senior vice president of operations for EOS North America.
EOS said the manufacturing expansion in Pflugerville has created 10 new jobs, including roles in operations, quality assurance, engineering and machine commissioning.
The new 40,000-square-foot Belton facility consolidates the company’s North American warehousing and logistics operations, allowing it to hold larger inventories of spare parts, peripheral equipment and finished products. EOS said the consolidation frees manufacturing space at Pflugerville for additional system assembly.
While primary production operations remain in Maisach, Germany, EOS said it is continuing to expand U.S. manufacturing capabilities to improve supply chain resilience and responsiveness for customers in North America
