Hanjung America to Build Energy Storage Manufacturing Facility in Indiana

HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Hanjung America Corp. plans to build its first U.S. manufacturing facility at the Riverfork West Industrial Park in Huntington, Indiana, establishing a production site for energy storage system components that will support electric vehicle battery manufacturing.
The company will develop 133 acres at the industrial park and manufacture cooling systems and fire-suppression technologies used in large-scale energy storage system containers. The products will supply Stellantis and Samsung SDI battery operations in the state.
"This new location allows us to better serve our local customers," said Kevin Kim, president of Hanjung America.
Kim also noted the potential for the new site to contribute to regional development in the area.
Local officials said the project represents a significant investment in advanced manufacturing and grid-supporting technologies. Mayor Richard Strick said the facility will create high-paying manufacturing jobs while strengthening energy storage safety and performance.
Hanjung plans to break ground in April 2026, with operations targeted to begin in June 2027. The site could eventually include multiple manufacturing buildings.
The facility is expected to employ more than 300 workers at startup and more than 440 at full capacity.
