LOUISVILLE, KY—More than 5,000 people have applied this month for what turned out to be just 50 factory jobs, some of them temporary, at Ford Motor Co.’s assembly plant here.
FULTON, KY—Kayser Automotive Systems will spend $17.5 million to build an assembly plant here. Expected to employ 121 people, the facility will produce parts for engines and fuel tanks.
WINCHESTER, KY—J&T Munitions has begun construction of a $3.6 million expansion project at its assembly plant here. The company also plans to add 15 full-time jobs.
ERLANGER, KY—Jacobs Automation, which makes modular assembly conveyors based on linear motors, is slated to create 26 jobs and invest more than $1.7 million to build a new facility here.
HENDERSON, KY—Faucet manufacturer Sunspring America Inc. is investing $1.2 million to expand its assembly plant here and add up to 15 new jobs over the next three years.
LEXINGTON, KY—Kentucky’s automotive industry enjoyed a banner year in 2012, with annual production reaching more than 1 million vehicles for the first time since 2007.
