LORDSTOWN, OH-The official launch of the Chevrolet Cruze isn’t until April, but GM’s assembly plant here just rolled out the first test model. The new car is not for sale and is made to be disassembled by engineers to troubleshoot any problems. Some 100 test models will be by made by the end of the year. MORE

DETROIT-GM has decided to speed up payments to its parts suppliers to help ease their cash flow problems and ultimately improve relations with the companies. Relations between GM and its suppliers have been strained since 1990s, when it continually demanded cost cuts. BAY MINETTE, AL-Chinese company Hybrid Kinetic Motors plans to construct a new green vehicle manufacturing plant here, bringing 5,000 jobs to the state. Initial production is expected to begin in 2013, with the first phase of 300,000 vehicles. MORE
