EAST HARTFORD, CT— Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers went on strike Monday at jet engine maker Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut, as negotiations over wages, retirement benefits and job security broke down.
SEATTLE, WA—Boeing workers on the U.S. West Coast voted to accept a new contract, ending a seven-week strike that had halted much of the company’s jet production.
As strike drags on, Boeing's suppliers are feeling the pinch.

SEATTLE—The governors of Utah, Missouri and Montana on Tuesday urged Boeing and the union representing 33,000 striking machinists to end a nearly seven-week-old strike, citing the impact to their states and the planemaker’s suppliers.
Strike will continue after factory workers reject 35 percent wage increase.

SEATTLE—Factory workers represented by the International Association of Machinists have voted to reject Boeing’s latest contract offer and continue their strike, which has now lasted more than five weeks.
Charges of unfair labor practices have also increased.

WASHINGTON—From Oct. 1, 2023, to Sept. 30, 2024, the National Labor Relations Board received 3,286 union election petitions, up 27 percent since FY 2023, when the agency received 2,593 petitions. This is more than double the number of petitions received since FY 2021, when the NLRB received 1,638 petitions.
