Aerospace, Medical Manufacturers Seek to Modernize Compliance Infrastructure

CHICAGO — Manufacturers in highly regulated industries are increasingly consolidating ERP, quality management and traceability systems into unified digital platforms as companies work to reduce compliance overhead, simplify audits and improve production visibility across complex operations.

The shift is driving greater interest in platforms that combine production records, quality documentation and operational data into unified systems capable of supporting electronic batch records, real-time traceability and compliance oversight across multi-site manufacturing environments.

This has been a recurring theme at recent manufacturing and automation events, including the MAX Event in Nashville. It will also be a focus at upcoming industry events such as The ASSEMBLY Show and Automate 2026, which will take place June 22-25 in Chicago.

Companies developing ERP and quality-management platforms are increasingly emphasizing integrated compliance visibility, production traceability and centralized operational oversight as manufacturers attempt to move away from disconnected spreadsheets, manual documentation workflows and fragmented plant-floor systems.

QT9 Software recently highlighted those trends while discussing its QT9 ERP platform, which combines ERP and quality-management functions within a single system designed for regulated manufacturing environments such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace and industrial production.

The company said manufacturers are increasingly seeking systems capable of shortening validation timelines, improving response times during quality events and maintaining tighter visibility into work-in-progress inventory, production records and supply-chain documentation. The company plans to highlight the platform at Automate 2026.

Similar connected manufacturing, operational intelligence and production-management platforms are expected to be showcased at The ASSEMBLY Show, scheduled for Oct. 27-29 in Rosemont, Ill.
