Robotics Vision Supplier Expands Manufacturing Footprint

BAC NINH, Vietnam — Orbbec has broken ground on a new manufacturing base in Vietnam as the company expands production capacity for 3D vision sensors, smart hardware and robotics-related products.
The RVMC Factory will be located in the Thuan Thanh Industrial Zone in Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam. The facility is planned to cover more than 100,000 square meters, with completion and operations scheduled for 2027.
Once operational, the facility will primarily manufacture 3D vision sensors and smart hardware products for overseas markets. Orbbec said the factory will strengthen its global delivery capabilities and provide localized manufacturing support as demand grows for AI vision technology used in robotics, smart devices and industrial automation.
The company said initial overseas production capacity also is being accelerated and is expected to begin operations in the near term. Orbbec said the phased approach will combine near-term capacity with longer-term production infrastructure.
Orbbec also operates an intelligent manufacturing base in China, which began operations at the end of 2024 and is continuing to ramp up production. The facility is expected to reach annual sensor production capacity in the millions of units.
The China facility also provides contract manufacturing services for companies developing humanoid robots and other intelligent robotic products.
“With coordinated production across its China and Vietnam facilities, Orbbec is building a more resilient and scalable global manufacturing system,” the company said.
“The groundbreaking of RVMC marks not only the start of a new facility, but also a significant step forward in strengthening Orbbec’s global manufacturing and delivery system,” said Brent Chan, CFO of Orbbec. “Going forward, we will continue to enhance our global production footprint and improve supply chain resilience through a multi-site manufacturing strategy, delivering higher-quality products and solutions to customers and partners worldwide.”
