College Grads Rarely Stay at First Job
BETHLEHEM, PA--Nearly 10 percent of newly hired college graduates leave their jobs within a year's time, according to a survey of employers by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
The survey found that the turnover rate for college hires was 9.6 percent after 1 year and 24.8 percent after 5 years. In 1999, those figures were 8.6 percent and 22.4 percent, respectively.
Based on exit interviews by survey respondents, the top three reasons for staff turnover were compensation, career advancement and relocation.
