Danaher Motion Acquires G&L Motion Control Inc.
WOOD DALE, ILDanaher Motion has acquired G&L Motion Control Inc. (GLMC, Fond Du Lac, WI), a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp (Düsseldorf, Germany).
GLMC manufactures motion control products for machine builders serving the packaging, converting, printing, material handling, machining, assembly, metal cutting and semiconductor wafer processing sectors.
"The acquisition of G&L Motion Control strengthens our motion portfolio particularly for machine builders seeking automation partners with a broad level of knowledge and experience in optimizing mechatronic solutions," says Phil Strong, president of motion control systems for Danaher Motion.
"[GLMC] has a long established leadership in providing industry standard based solutions that integrate motion and machine control," Strong says, adding that GLMC has been at the forefront of the effort to bring IEC 61131-3 PLCopen programming languages to machine control.
