ADA, OH-Ohio Northern University (ONU) has selected KUKA Robotics Corp. (Clinton Township, MI) to provide robotics for its newly remodeled and expanded robotics technology center, which provides students with hands-on design and programming experience.
The ONU robotics technology center, part of the university’s Department of Technological Studies, currently has seven KUKA KR3 robots as well as KUKA controllers and software. Five of the robots are being interfaced to PLCs and CNC machines in a simulated manufacturing environment, where they perform loading, unloading, and part-transfer functions. The university’s traveling robotics team uses the other two robots for out-of-town competitions. For more on the center, visitwww.onu.edu.
