DENSO Opens New Assembly Plant in Tennessee

MARYVILLE, TN—Auto parts manufacturer DENSO will host a grand opening of its new assembly plant here on Friday.
According to the Maryville Daily Times, the new facility is 335,900 square feet and will assemble advanced systems for automakers shifting to electric and autonomous vehicles. The company hopes to make the facility its primary manufacturing center in North America for electrification and safety systems.
The $1 billion investment is expected to create more than a thousand jobs. Production will begin in spring 2019.
