LA VERGNE, TN—Tooling Tech Group (TTG) has completed construction of a new 72,000 square-foot facility here to consolidate its automation division, which had been housed in two buildings in Murfreesboro, TN. TTG builds custom automated systems for assembly, joining and inspection, as well as tooling for thermoform molding, high-compression composite molding, blow molding, rotational molding, die casting, and stamping. Industries served include automotive, appliance, lawn and garden, agricultural, aerospace, marine and off-road vehicle.

The new facility is 10,000 square feet larger than the original two buildings combined, and also features 40-percent-taller ceilings.

“We ended up in two facilities when we had to quickly accommodate our business growth, but we are very pleased to now be consolidated under one roof,” says Matt Phillips, TTG Automation president. “This move not only provides a convenient location for our customers, but also means we can be even more efficient and productive in serving their needs.”

TTG foresees significant sales growth in its engineered automation solutions as well as its Flexbase automated modular work cells, designed to easily integrate robotics, vision, lasers or other technologies into a quick-delivery assembly solution. To accommodate this increase in business, the company is expanding its staff by 20 percent and looking to hire additional assembly technicians, electricians, project managers and control engineers. La Vernge is the fourth TTG facility to be expanded and updated within the last year.

Founded in 1982, the company is the second largest tooling supplier in the United States. It has more than 1 million combined square feet of manufacturing space, employs approximately 600 people and has a total of 12 locations across four states as well as a sales office in China.
