GUANGZHOU, China—XPENG AEROHT has officially broken ground on a groundbreaking flying car manufacturing facility in Guangzhou, China, marking the world's first plant to implement advanced assembly line processes for large-scale flying car production. This state-of-the-art facility will focus on producing the air module for the Modular Flying Car, known as the “Land Aircraft Carrier,” with an anticipated annual output of 10,000 units.

The facility covers an initial area of approximately 180,000 square meters and includes four major workshops: Composites, Joint, Painting, and Assembly, along with additional support infrastructure. The manufacturing base aims to meet the high-precision standards of the aviation industry while leveraging the efficiencies of automotive mass production. This unique combination is expected to enhance quality consistency, lower production costs, and significantly reduce delivery times, fostering synergy between the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector and the emerging low-altitude economy.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, XPENG AEROHT Founder Zhao Deli stated, “This manufacturing base exemplifies our commitment to excellence, intelligence, and sustainability, setting a new global standard for flying car production.” He emphasized the company's focus on in-house development of core technologies and the manufacturing of essential components, ensuring stringent quality control, cost efficiency, and maximum customer value.

The factory's design promotes a compact, streamlined layout that integrates workshops and centralized logistics, minimizing waste in storage and transportation while maximizing production efficiency. XPENG AEROHT will implement a comprehensive traceability system to comply with stringent aviation safety standards, monitoring each component from the supply chain to final assembly. Additionally, the facility will utilize solar energy, energy-efficient equipment in high-consumption areas, and a digital energy management system for real-time monitoring, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.

“This groundbreaking facility for mass-producing flying cars is a significant milestone for XPENG AEROHT and the Guangzhou Development District's progress in the low-altitude economy,” remarked Shao Jingbo, Deputy Director of the Guangzhou Development District Administrative Committee. “We look forward to partnering with XPENG AEROHT to propel the flying car industry forward, achieving new heights and enhancing its contribution to national economic growth.”

Recently, XPENG AEROHT successfully completed the first manned test flight of the “Land Aircraft Carrier” air module. The modular flying car is set for its global public flight debut at the China Airshow on November 12, with pre-sales anticipated to begin by the end of the year.
