LEIPZIG, Germany—Porsche recently reached a major production milestone with the completion of its one-millionth Macan at the company’s Leipzig plant. The milestone vehicle is a fully electric Macan 4 in Frozen Blue Metallic.
Manufactured in Leipzig since 2013, the Macan has become one of Porsche’s most successful models worldwide. In the 2024 fiscal year alone, 82,795 units were delivered to customers around the globe.
Initially chosen as the production site in 2011, Leipzig underwent extensive expansion to accommodate Macan manufacturing. This included the addition of a body shop and paint shop, creating 1,500 new jobs. Today, the factory produces combustion, hybrid, and fully electric vehicles on a single, highly flexible production line.
Since opening in 2002, Porsche Leipzig has become a pillar of the brand’s global manufacturing strategy, producing both the Macan and Panamera models. The plant has received numerous accolades, including the ‘Lean and Green Management Award’ (2021) and ‘Factory of the Year’ (2023), in recognition of its intelligent, sustainable production processes.
