PRINCETON, IN—Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana (TMMI) has reached a major production milestone with the assembly of its one-millionth hybrid vehicle. The landmark unit—a 2025 Toyota Sienna Platinum—was completed earlier this month at the Princeton facility, underscoring the plant’s role in Toyota’s commitment to vehicle electrification.
The Princeton facility has produced the Toyota Sienna since 2003, with the current generation offered exclusively as a hybrid. Year-over-year sales of the Sienna surged more than 95% in May 2025, and electrified vehicles made up nearly half of Toyota’s total U.S. sales for the month.
Since its opening in 1998, the plant has manufactured over 6 million vehicles. In April 2024, Toyota announced a $1.4 billion investment to prepare the facility for production of a new battery electric vehicle. That expansion is expected to create 340 new jobs.
Today, Toyota Indiana employs more than 7,600 people, making it one of the state’s largest employers. In addition to the Sienna, the plant produces the Toyota Grand Highlander, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, and the Lexus TX.
