RTA Launches the First Practical IEC 62443 Course for the Plant Floor

PEWAUKEE, WI—Real Time Automation (RTA) has announced a new two-day virtual training course designed to provide plant floor professionals with practical, step-by-step instruction on securing industrial operations using the IEC 62443 cybersecurity standard. The course, scheduled for December 3 and 10, 2025, is the first of its kind built specifically for plant implementers, offering actionable guidance without unnecessary jargon, vendor bias, or complexity.
Led by Danny “Riverman” Caudle of River Risk Partners, a veteran in IEC 62443 deployments, the program focuses on proven, field-tested techniques that can be applied immediately to strengthen plant floor security. Participants will learn the SECURE Method™—a structured approach to segmenting systems, managing access, maintaining uptime, and responding to incidents effectively.
The agenda covers key IEC 62443 elements, including security zones and conduits, role-based access control (RBAC), OT patch management, incident response planning, and configuring network DMZs.
RTA CEO John Rinaldi emphasized the urgency of proactive cybersecurity, noting the increasing threats to manufacturing systems and growing pressure from boards, insurers, and regulators.
