Stellantis Announces Record $13 Billion U.S. Investment

AUBURN HILLS, MI—Stellantis announced a historic $13 billion investment to expand its U.S. operations over the next four years — the largest in the company’s 100-year history. The plan will boost U.S. production by 50%, add five new vehicle launches, refresh 19 products, and create more than 5,000 jobs across Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.
“This investment in the U.S. – the single largest in the company’s history – will drive our growth, strengthen our manufacturing footprint, and bring more American jobs to the states we call home,” said Antonio Filosa, Stellantis CEO and North America COO.
Investment Breakdown
- Belvidere, Illinois: More than $600 million to reopen the Belvidere Assembly Plant for new Jeep® Cherokee and Compass production, creating 3,300 jobs by 2027.
- Toledo, Ohio: Nearly $400 million to assemble an all-new midsize truck alongside the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator, adding 900 jobs by 2028.
- Warren, Michigan: About $100 million to produce a new range-extended EV and large SUV, adding 900 jobs by 2028.
- Detroit, Michigan: $130 million to prepare for the next-generation Dodge Durango, launching in 2029.
- Kokomo, Indiana: More than $100 million to produce the new GMET4 EVO engine, creating over 100 jobs by 2026.
The investment will support Stellantis’ R&D, supplier partnerships, and manufacturing upgrades as part of a long-term strategy to expand its presence in the United States. With 34 U.S. facilities and 48,000 employees nationwide, Stellantis continues to strengthen its role as a major force in American automotive manufacturing.
