Course Teaches How to Design Plastic Parts for Automotive Applications

TROY, MI—Consulting and training firm ETS Inc. is presenting a three-day course on how to design plastic parts for automotive applications.
Presented by plastic design expert Paul A. Tres, the course will take place Nov. 5-7 at the Michigan State University campus in Troy, MI. The handout materials include the 10th edition of Tres’ book, Designing Plastic Parts for Assembly, and a binder containing color copies of more than 1,300 slides used during the three-day course.
The course will provide information on material selection, design procedures, processing techniques and assembly methods. Topics include in-mold assembly, living hinges, squeaks and rattles, over-molding, press-fit design, snap-fit design and safety systems.
