Medical Device Manufacturer Invests $20 Million in Pennsylvania Assembly Plant
B. Braun will create 200 new manufacturing jobs and retain 1,700 existing jobs.

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, PA—B. Braun, a German manufacturer of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, will invest $20 million to expand and modernize its assembly plant here, creating at least 200 new, full-time jobs over the next three years and retaining 1,704 existing full-time positions.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is supporting the project with $1.5 million in state funding, which consists of a $1 million Pennsylvania First grant and a $500,000 WEDnetPA grant to train workers.
B. Braun, which has operated in the Lehigh Valley for more than four decades, manufactures more than 2,400 medical devices and products in Lehigh County and has its U.S. headquarters in Bethlehem, PA.
“We are proud to continue growing our manufacturing operations in the Lehigh Valley,” said Rob Albert, CEO, B. Braun of America. “Here in Pennsylvania, we have the skilled workforce, high quality suppliers, and business environment that enable us to manufacture medical devices used by healthcare providers across the United States.”
To support the expansion, B. Braun is also launching a new workforce training center at the Hanover site.
The Lehigh Valley is home to more than 170 life-sciences business establishments—including factories, labs, research centers, offices and distribution centers—that employ more than 6,000 people.Looking for quick answers on assembly and manufacturing topics?
