Igus Opens First Lead Screw Manufacturing Facility in Rhode Island

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—Igus, a manufacturer of plastic motion control products, has completed construction of a new 110,000-square-foot facility here to manufacture lead screws.
The new facility, which will begin production in 2026, will enable the company to strengthen domestic supply chains and reduce lead times for customers. The factory is the company’s first dryspin lead screw production site outside of Germany and adds to the company’s 350,000-square-foot Rhode Island campus.
“Moving production beneath our own roof here in East Providence will give us better control over our value stream and allow us to better service North American customers,” says Matt Mowry, drylin product manager at igus. “I am not only excited to start to roll lead screw profiles in the U.S., but equally excited to offer full machining capabilities in-house as well.”Looking for quick answers on assembly and manufacturing topics?
