From Floor to Factory: Stellantis's Factory Booster Day Celebrates Manufacturing Innovations

DETROIT—Stellantis marked its 10th annual Factory Booster Day, spotlighting more than 100 manufacturing innovations from 80 suppliers and startups, reinforcing the company’s shift toward AI-enhanced, automated, and sustainable industrial operations. The event, held at the Conner Center in Detroit, serves as a platform for solutions to improve quality, efficiency, and environmental performance across Stellantis’ production network.
A centerpiece of the event was the 2025 Innovation Awards, honoring Stellantis employees for advancements in predictive maintenance, VR-powered production-line retooling, paint oven monitoring, optimized Body-in-White material usage, a new ski hemming welding process, and quiet-gear design for EVs.
“Factory Booster Day is a reflection of our manufacturing culture and global collaboration,” said Tim Fallon, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Stellantis Production Way. “By empowering our teams and partnering with startups and suppliers, we co-create smart solutions that drive quality, agility, and sustainability across Stellantis.”
The event’s Open Challenge invites suppliers and startups to pitch solutions to real production challenges, resulting in both physical and virtual demonstrations. Many of the showcased innovations are deployed across Stellantis plants worldwide.
Here are some examples of Open Challenge innovations from past Booster Day events that were implemented in factories:
- AI Predictive Maintenance: A KCF Technologies system deployed in North American paint shops uses real-time sensor data to prevent breakdowns, increasing reliability and uptime.
- AI-Driven Part Verification: KEYENCE’s IV4 smart-camera system performs more than 50,000 daily inspections at the Detroit Assembly Complex – Jefferson, ensuring fastener accuracy with automated feedback and analytics.
- VR Forklift Training Simulator: Adopted at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, this VR solution builds operator skills in a safe, immersive environment, supporting Stellantis’ commitment to safety and workforce development.
