GM Invests $250 Million in Parma Metal Center in Ohio

Parma, OH—GM's $250 million investment in the Parma Metal Center will support production of sheet-metal stampings and assemblies tied to major product allocations at Orion Assembly (MI), Spring Hill Manufacturing (TN), and Fairfax Assembly (KS).
GM’s total 2025 manufacturing investments of $5.5 billion reinforce the company’s strategy to boost domestic production capacity, strengthen supply chain resilience, and support both its ICE and EV product lines.
By expanding stamping and assembly capabilities at Parma, GM positions itself to meet customer demand better and maintain a robust domestic production network.
GM emphasized that the commitment extends beyond facility equipment upgrades. The company continues to invest in workforce development, offering training, STEM/STEAM education initiatives, and apprenticeship programs to prepare employees for advanced manufacturing roles. These efforts ensure team members can effectively operate new technologies and support evolving production needs.
Parma Metal Center has been operating for more than 75 years and produces over 100 million parts annually. It processes more than 400 tons of steel each day. The facility supplies components for most GM vehicles built in North America, making it a critical part of the company’s manufacturing ecosystem.
