Mecad USA plans Oklahoma manufacturing site, nearly 300 jobs projected

TULSA, Okla. — Mecad USA said it will locate its U.S. operations at the Tulsa Port of Catoosa in a move expected to create nearly 300 jobs in northeastern Oklahoma.
The company said the project is tied in part to the state's 2025 “behind-the-meter” legislation, which allows industrial and commercial facilities to develop on-site power generation and storage without being regulated as public utilities.
Oklahoma’s behind-the-meter law, passed as Senate Bill 480 and signed in 2025, allows companies to build on-site power generation and storage systems without being treated as utilities. Mecad USA said the policy will allow it to tailor energy systems to its operational needs, improving resilience and reducing costs.
The new jobs are expected to include engineering, production, maintenance and technical roles, as well as support staff. Mecad USA said hiring is expected to begin ramping up in mid-2026, with workforce partnerships and training focused on automation, additive manufacturing and systems integration.
“We are excited to make the Tulsa Port of Catoosa the foundation of our U.S. growth,” Candido Romero, CEO of Mecad USA and Mecad del Valles SL, said in a statement. He said the law provides flexibility for the company’s energy strategy and supports modern manufacturing operations.
Mecad USA produces precision components and industrial automation systems serving sectors including aerospace, energy and advanced manufacturing. The company said the Port of Catoosa location will provide access to multimodal transportation and regional supply chains.
