GE Appliances Expands Roper Corporation Production in Georgia

LaFayette, GA — GE Appliances has added a new production line at its Roper Corporation facility in LaFayette, Georgia, as part of a multimillion-dollar investment to expand and modernize manufacturing operations at the company’s flagship cooking products plant.
The new line, scheduled to begin operating in July, will support additional assembly capacity for built-in cooking products and reflects the company’s broader push to increase automation and advanced manufacturing capabilities at the site.
“Our team in LaFayette takes tremendous pride in building cooking products for American homes,” said Luther Ingram, executive director and plant manager of Roper Corporation. “The skill, dedication and craftsmanship of our workforce, combined with our engineering and software expertise, allow us to bring new technologies into production.”
GE Appliances has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in recent years to upgrade the Roper facility, which has operated in LaFayette since 1973 and remains a major manufacturing employer in northwest Georgia. The improvements are intended to expand production capacity while strengthening domestic manufacturing of cooking appliances.
The project is part of GE Appliances’ previously announced $3 billion investment to expand U.S. manufacturing over the next five years, a strategy aimed at increasing domestic production and supporting the company’s engineering and product development efforts in the United States.
