Digital Manufacturing Exchange Enables Secure On-Demand Part Production

OSHKOSH, Wis. – Oshkosh Defense is working with Marine Depot Maintenance Command to support the Digital Manufacturing Exchange, a platform designed to accelerate production through advanced manufacturing. The system allows validated technical data from original equipment manufacturers to be transmitted securely so components can be produced at the point of need while maintaining configuration control and protecting intellectual property.
As an original equipment manufacturer, Oshkosh Defense will provide technical data packages that allow approved parts to be manufactured through controlled digital processes, helping speed repairs, reduce downtime and improve availability for military fleets.
The capability is intended to support sustainment in contested or disconnected environments, where traditional supply chains can be extended and vulnerable. By enabling authorized local production of critical components, the platform offers a more resilient approach to maintaining military equipment.
“The ability to rapidly repair and replenish equipment… so forces can sustain the fight is a powerful deterrent in today’s operational environment,” said Pat Williams, chief programs officer, Oshkosh Defense.
The Digital Manufacturing Exchange also manages access controls and cybersecurity standards, allowing approved users to produce parts globally while maintaining configuration and intellectual property safeguards. Oshkosh Defense said the partnership reflects a shared effort with Marine Depot Maintenance Command to combine digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing to improve fleet readiness.
