Accenture Invests in General Robotics to Scale Physical AI and Humanoid Robotics Deployment

NEW YORK—Accenture has invested in General Robotics through its venture arm, expanding its push into physical AI and humanoid robotics as manufacturers and logistics operators look to scale autonomous systems across operations.
As part of the investment, the companies will partner to develop and deploy enterprise-grade robotics intelligence designed to help organizations integrate and manage robotic systems more efficiently across factories.
General Robotics offers a platform called GRID, which acts as a unified intelligence layer connecting robots from different manufacturers, including emerging humanoid systems. The platform enables deployment of modular AI capabilities, allowing robots to adapt to new tasks without relying on fixed programming.
The system also incorporates cloud-based orchestration and simulation tools that mirror real-world factory conditions. These environments allow companies to train robotic systems, test configurations and optimize performance before deploying equipment on the shop floor.
The partnership is aimed at addressing a key barrier in industrial robotics:
"Often, piloting robotic systems takes too long, is expensive and often not scalable and repeatable across a network of facilities,” said Prasad Satyavolu, global lead for manufacturing and operations at Accenture.
Accenture will bring its experience in manufacturing, logistics and other asset-intensive industries, while integrating technologies from the broader physical AI ecosystem, including NVIDIA-based simulation platforms.

The effort is focused on enabling what Accenture describes as a hybrid workforce, combining human workers, AI agents and robotic systems to improve productivity, address labor constraints and reduce operational costs.
The investment highlights growing interest in physical AI platforms that can unify deployment across robot types, including humanoids, as manufacturers look to scale automation while maintaining flexibility and control over operations.
