Michigan Town Welcomes Alternative Energy Manufacturing Facility

ST. CLAIR, MI-The St. Clair City Council rolled out the welcome mat to an alternative energy manufacturing facility at its June 1 meeting. Energy Components Group LLC will take over a former auto parts plant here, investing $20 million in machinery and equipment. A tier one supplier to customers in the solar and wind industries, Energy Components Group will employ 250 people over the next several years as it ramps up production volumes. MORE

DETROIT-U.S. Rep. Gary Peters launched a Web site Monday to persuade the nation’s largest domestic automaker to pick the Orion assembly plant for production of its next compact car. GKN Aerospace Awards Automation Contract to German Firm

BRISTOL, UK-German firm, Brotje Automation, has been awarded a contract by GKN Aerospace to supply an advanced moving line assembly system for the A350 extra wide body aircraft. As part of the contract, Brotje will provide a turnkey assembly line for the aircraft’s wing trailing edge and main landing gear parts on its all-composite rear wing spar. MORE
