DETROIT—Automotive supplier Dakkota Integrated Systems plans to build a $55 million assembly plant here to produce parts for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

The 600,000-square-foot manufacturing plant will be located on a 32-acre site on the city’s east side and is expected to create 625 jobs.

“We’re excited to bring good manufacturing jobs to the east side of Detroit,” says Andra Rush, president and CEO of Dakkota.

Dakkota manufactures cockpit module assemblies, overhead systems, front and rear fascia, cooling modules, front and rear suspensions, and bumper and grill assemblies. The company already operates assembly plants in Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Ontario.
