Demco Automation Receives Award for Veteran Employment

QUAKERTOWN, PA—Systems integrator Demco Automation has received a second consecutive Gold Medallion Award from the U.S. Department of Labor for recruiting, hiring and retaining veterans.

The award was presented on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, during a virtual ceremony hosted at the department’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Established by the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act, the award recognizes an organization’s commitment to veteran hiring, retention and professional development. To be eligible for the gold award, an employer must maintain a workforce composed of at least 7 percent veterans and it must retain at least 75 percent of its veteran employees from year to year.

Demco is one of only 27 organizations in Pennsylvania and 675 across the country to earn the award. “We are honored to receive this award from the U.S. Department of Labor for the second consecutive year,” says Stephen Maund, president and CEO of Demco Automation. “Our team includes military veterans from the Army, Navy and Air Force.
