LOS ANGELES, CA—Archer Aviation has been selected as the Official Air Taxi Provider of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Team USA, marking a major milestone for the future of urban air mobility. Archer will integrate its Midnight eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft into the LA28 Games, offering sustainable transportation for VIPs, fans, and event stakeholders, while powering vertiport hubs at major venues throughout Los Angeles.
As LA prepares to welcome more than 15 million visitors and global media attention in 2028, Archer and LA28 will work together to demonstrate how next-generation air mobility can reduce congestion, cut emissions, and transform how people move through the city during major events.
The Midnight aircraft—a quiet, emissions-free air taxi capable of carrying four passengers plus a pilot—is designed for short urban trips of 10–20 minutes. Archer plans to deploy Midnight across a network of vertiports at strategic locations including Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Santa Monica, Hollywood, Orange County, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
“Our goal is to revolutionize transportation in Los Angeles and leave a lasting legacy beyond the Games,” said Adam Goldstein, CEO and founder of Archer Aviation.
The partnership also includes integration into NBCUniversal’s Olympic storytelling, with featured moments during coverage of the 2026 and 2028 Games, including high-visibility events like the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
Archer’s Midnight is currently being built in the U.S., with manufacturing facilities in San Jose, California and Covington, Georgia. The aircraft is designed to meet FAA safety standards comparable to commercial airliners, with 12 redundant propellers and advanced fault-tolerant systems.
