September 29, 2025

ROCKET CENTER, WV—Northrop Grumman Corporation recently announced the opening of its new Missile Integration Facility (MIF) at the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory in Rocket Center, West Virginia. The 113,000-square-foot facility consolidates production, assembly, testing, and shipping under one roof and is designed to deliver up to 300 advanced strike missiles annually, including the U.S. Navy’s high-speed, extended-range AARGM-ER.

Northrop Grumman’s AARGM-ER is a supersonic, air-launched tactical missile designed to defeat advanced surface-to-air threats. Building on existing AARGM components, it incorporates a new high-performance airframe, propulsion system, and advanced warhead to deliver enhanced counter-air-defense capabilities for the U.S. Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and international partners.

“Northrop Grumman is delivering advanced weapons capabilities at scale today,” said Frank DeMauro, vice president and general manager, weapon systems. “The Missile Integration Facility expands our manufacturing capacity and ensures we can meet growing demand for critical strike capabilities in support of U.S. and allied forces.”

The MIF is part of Northrop Grumman’s more than $1 billion investment since 2018 to expand advanced weapons and propulsion manufacturing. With the addition of Plant 4 and the MIF, the company has brought online more than 1 million square feet of new and renovated production space in the past seven years.

Northrop Grumman continues to advance technologies in hypersonic propulsion, strike systems, solid rocket motors, and missile components.
