GERMANTOWN, WI—The Blown-ion 250 from Enercon Industries Corp. is a high-powered plasma treater that provides uniform treatment at widths up to 1 inch in a single pass. It is ideal for cleaning, etching and functionalizing plastic, metal and composite surfaces to improve surface wettability and bonding with adhesives, form-in-place gaskets, paints, coatings and inks.
“The system’s robust design enables integration with robotics for complex treatment paths, or it can be used in stationary equipment for continuous process applications,” says Wilson Lee, business development director at Enercon. “Manufacturers who use blown-ion plasma benefit from improved quality and throughput, while eliminating hazardous primers and manual surface preparation methods.”
Plasma treatment is used extensively to promote surface adhesion for assembly, decorating, printing and potting. The new plasma treater is available for testing at Enercon’s laboratory and at customer facilities for field trials.
