Chicago Hackathon Wants Manufacturing Leaders to Solve Real-World Problems with AI

CHICAGO — Manufacturing leaders tired of AI hype and ready to tackle real operational challenges might want to check out the AI Action Lab in Chicago on Feb. 26.
Event coordinators say this isn’t another conference with panels and slides. They tout this as a hands-on, hackathon-style event where manufacturers, plant managers and operations teams work side-by-side with AI developers to solve actual industry issues.
Event coordinators encourage participants to bring real problems with them to the Lab’s four “micro-hack” sessions, which focus on operations, sales, administration and marketing. They say the goal is to help teams prototype AI-powered solutions that can actually be implemented at the plant.
“This event is for the people keeping our economy running – business owners, team leads and operators who need real solutions that can go live Monday morning,” said Jeffrey Dirrenberger, CEO of Vault Innovation Group, a sponsor of the Lab. “AI Action Lab is where strategy meets execution.”
Tickets are $50 and include full-day access, networking and refreshments. Registration is open at www.aiactionlab.org. The Lab will also travel to Kansas City, Des Moines and Milwaukee later this year.
