HOLLY SPRINGS, NC—Swiss medical device manufacturer Ypsomed will invest more than $249 million to build its first U.S. assembly plant here.
The 160,000 square foot facility will initially employ 100 people and could employ some 200 people as demand increases.
Ypsomed manufactures injection systems for self-medication. It operates assembly plants in Switzerland, Germany and China.
“Establishing our new production site in the United States marks an important step in Ypsomed’s global growth strategy,” says Simon Michel, CEO of Ypsomed. “We have deliberately chosen Holly Springs, a location at the heart of our industry, close to our customers…. This environment will allow us to attract the skilled workforce we need and to further strengthen our position as a leading supplier of self-injection systems worldwide.”
