Hydraulic suspension systems for cars use pressurized oil and compressed gas in cylinders to control ride height and provide superior ride quality and vehicle stability.

A pump directs hydraulic fluid to cylinders at each wheel via a network of valves. These valves, in collaboration with accumulators, facilitate a dynamic response to road conditions. They can adjust the suspension height and firmness by varying fluid pressure, thereby accommodating different road surfaces and driver preferences. The result is a responsive system that adapts to changes in the road, maintaining stability and comfort.

The greatest advantage of hydraulic suspension systems lies in their millisecond-level response speed and extensive adjustment range. When encountering uneven road surfaces, they can instantly absorb impacts, providing an experience as smooth as driving on a level surface.

The heart of a hydraulic suspension system is the high-pressure oil pump. Operating under pressures exceeding 200 bar, the pump must continuously deliver stable power to ensure the system’s rapid response and precise control.

As a result, the requirements for sealing are stringent. Even minute leakage can lead to performance degradation or functional failure. Therefore, the reliability of oil seals and sealing rings is critical for the stable operation of the system.

High-precision servo presses are critical for installing these parts. They offer micron-level press-fitting accuracy, enabling stringent control over the motion and force applied to seals. More importantly, they feature closed-loop control.

By applying constant pressure after press-fitting, the servo press effectively counteracts the rebound of seal components caused by plastic deformation, avoiding the risk of seal failure.

Leetx Industrial Technology Co. Ltd. has supplied numerous servo presses for this application. Based in Shanghai, China, Leetx also manufactures transducerized fastening tools and automatic screw feeding equipment.

Leetx offers five models of servo press.

The standard model, the EPS universal servo press, covers a force range of 2 to 500 kilonewtons and a stroke length of 200 to 600 millimeters. Maximum ram speed ranges from 35 to 250 millimeters per second. Positioning repeatability is ±0.01 millimeter or ±0.002 millimeter when using an external displacement sensor. A built-in, precision force sensor is accurate to within 1 percent of the set value.

A small, lightweight model, the PLP precision servo press, is ideal for integrating with robots. It can control force to within 0.5 percent of the set value and is suitable for micro-force press-fitting applications. The same height as three cans of soda, the press comes in two versions: one with a maximum force of 200 newtons and a maximum stroke of 100 millimeters, and the other with a maximum force of 500 newtons and a maximum stroke of 200 millimeters. Maximum ram speed is 200 millimeters per second.

For more presses, click www.leetx.com or visit the company’s booth at The Manufacturing & Automation eXchange (MAX), which will be held March 25-26, 2026, at the Music City Center in Nashville, TN. Leetx is one of several press suppliers exhibiting at the show.

MAX was created in direct response to the shifts shaping manufacturing today: smart factories, integrated systems, workforce challenges, and the need for collaboration across disciplines. MAX merges the strengths of five manufacturing brands—ASSEMBLY, Quality, Adhesives & Sealants Industry, ISHN, and Packaging Strategies—to create one collaborative, unified event that reflects how modern manufacturers think, work, and solve.

Besides presses, you’ll find some 200 suppliers of automation, fastening tools, robotics, software, presses, adhesives, test and inspection technology, packaging equipment and safety products.
